Balmoral Show Extravaganza

The Balmoral Show 2010 is over for this year, and I was there on the first day (Wednesday) with my camera fully charged, and I was ready to capture as much action as I could from one of the highlights of the farming year. Capturing the action on camera turned out to be a lot harder than I thought.

A Zwartble sheep.

The Zwartble is one of my favourite sheep breeds, so I was thrilled when I saw them being judged in the sheep fold ring.

During lunch, a show-jumping class started as it does every year. I took photos of some of the competitors.

The cows and their calves were also in attendance.

The calves can be seen here… in Part One of the Balmoral Show.

Part Two of the Balmoral Show.

Part Four of the Balmoral Show.

Part Five of the Balmoral Show, featuring Bold Dog Lings, the freestyle FMX display team.

Part Six coming soon, with Top Notch Dancing Dogs...

  1. Wow, those are some huge cattle, well mostly the white and the black and white ones. They look like cows on steroids! I am going to to send that video to a friend of mine here in Canada that raises and shows Herefords, be interesting to hear how the Irish Herefords compare to the Canadian:)

  2. Thanks very much. I would love to hear what they have to say. Northern Ireland is famous for it's beef and those cows were massive! Last year, one got off and that was a sight.
