So very sorry to hear of Fly's passing. But she certainly had a long, happy life and was dearly loved, so that is something to be grateful for. Our thoughts are with you!
It is always hard to see a loyal friend of long years such as Fly pass away. What a great companion and hard-working member of the farm family. To see a border collie productively live almost two decades is extraordinary. That is a tribute to the great care and love shown by your family towards the animals under your stewardship. You are to be congratulated, even as you feel the sting of the loss.
You have years of photos and documented stories collected, which will go forward with you in the decades ahead, a true blessing. Our little place has a 14-year senior border-collie-in-charge, and it is obvious she is slowing down, even as she daily goes out on her rounds to patrol the property. In her prime, she was poetry in motion, and I do wish I had thought to document her life more carefully. I'll be taking many more shots in coming days and years (if she tarries), because I don't want her memory to fade.
Blessings and condolences. Give Teddy and Ben a special hug and an extra dog biscuit from OldSouth.
