August saw the baling continue - I learned how to operate the John Deeres better, although I'm going to be a fan of those early 2000s Masseys forever. Here we're baling a field of haylage. It was a very busy time as the poor weather had given way to a brief warmer spell. It was my first year using this particular machine to do the rowing as well.
Meanwhile, we set out to replace most of our tips this year. One of our new additions is Henri here.
Nigella's daughter.
Lots of lambs.
Henri again, and behind him is Hector.

Susan on the quad, my photography assistant for the evening.
Speaking of tips, Dale arrived in mid-August and was put straight to work with my pet ladies - Astrid and Primrose for their second season, Fern and Frida for their first.
Of course, no month is really complete without a visit to the pets (or several). Bella and Vera:

Another evening, this one a bit more cloudy. I love the atmosphere. This is Patricia coming over to see me.

I'm very pleased with my selection of pet lambs this year. All characters.
More baling.
