Cairns's, consisting of three fields, doesn't have running water, which means we have to keep a couple of repurposed lick tubs topped up ourselves. On this day my dad and I had both just returned home from getting our flu and COVID jabs, only to turn around and head down the road again with Fly and a few containers of fresh water for these old ewes.
The ewes were being given nuts every morning, so they were a bit disappointed that we had only water with us.
They still came over to check, just in case.
Mmm, delicious!
More checking for nuts. (They'd already had their nuts in the morning, we were giving them their water in the afternoon.)
A second helping of nuts in one day would not be rejected.
Water topped up, we left the ewes and headed once more for home. Fly sometimes likes to travel this way. Looks sort of cosy.
